Hill International is seeking to employ a Financial Manager Southern Europe and Balkans.
Location Athens, Greece
Reports to Controller Europe
To manage the accounting department in the Greek office in order to produce timely and accurate financial statements which provide local management with decision making tools and corporate headquarters with U.
S. GAAP compliant financial reports for the global consolidation. The accounting team in Greece consists of 6 people and covers multiple entities (around 15) in Southern Europe and Balkans
Manage the monthly closing process for all respective entities for both management and statutory reporting
Manage a team of 6 accountants
Prepare accurate general ledgers by the designated deadlines each month
Manage the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
Keep the books in audit ready condition at all times. ( Audit ready means that a normal financial or internal control audit could be performed without the auditors requiring that any material adjustments be made).
Ensure that revenue and expenses are recognized in the General Ledger in accordance with US GAAP
Managing the audit process and SOX controls for the respective entities
Certify VAT reports and tax packages for the respective entities
Bachelor Degree in Financial or Economics
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline will be preferred.
At least 5 years of management experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
At least 10 years of overall accounting skills and experience
Good knowledge and experience with US GAAP.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the Organization
Strong Excel skills to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, statements, and / or projections.
Experience in working with ERPs / accounting softwares
Excellent English and Greek
Skills in organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling personal workflow.
