Job Brief and Purpose

  • The Waiter is responsible for ensuring that the F&B operation in our different outlets are to the highest standard. With a detailed knowledge of the Soho House Group and its concept, you will carry out duties as directed by your managers;
  • with a professional approach towards our guests, members and other employees.

    Main Duties and Tasks

  • Detailed knowledge of the food and beverage menu’s as well as Soho House & Co
  • Ensure that all guests, members and colleagues have a pleasant stay at the house
  • Provide a warm welcome to guests and members and advise on drinks and food
  • Enter food and beverage orders in our Micros system
  • Obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments and return change
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed and / or directed by supervisor / managers; Sweep, mob, and take out the rubbish
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed
  • Prepare the mise en place, set-up and take-down of interior
  • Maintain all steps in the customer service cycle (3-8-10 rule)
  • Keep all service areas fully replenished and make sure the cleanliness is well maintained
  • Deal with client requests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Have complete knowledge of the Mykonos local area, being able to confidently advise guests, members and colleagues
  • Keep storage areas clean. Maintain accurate stock levels and keep wastage to a minimum. Assist in the weekly stocktaking.
  • Ensure that storage areas for all products are kept tidy, topped up and hygienically clean according to health & safety standards
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Always make sure that your section and the restaurant look at its best
  • Assist in setting up for service and private events
  • Perform duties requested by any manager for the best of the business
  • Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training / onboarding of new team members
  • Attend and participate in internal and external trainings (where necessary)
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing as needed
  • Be proactive in looking for any cost saving opportunities within the department (i.e. through controlling wastage and utilities)
  • Adhere to good safety practices and be aware of departmental HACCP, Health & Safety, Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments including supporting all co-workers, treating them with dignity and respect
  • Maintain the highest level of appearance at all times
  • Carry out any reasonable task as requested by management and supervisors

  • Working quickly without compromising quality
  • Attention to detail and a structured way of working
  • Physically fit as the job involves manual labour over long hours
  • Good English language skills
