As a Principal Engineer, specialized in Machinery in marine environment, you would be joining our Global Ship Systems Center (GSSC) based in Athens, Kallithea.
The center establishes a premier research and development facility for ABS, focusing on integrated ship systems in the marine and offshore industries.
Working in collaborative teams for worldwide clients, the main focus of this position will be on managing R&D projects, in terms of development, execution and dissemination activities.
The position assumes participation in technical committees for review, approval and monitoring of projects, development, and coordination of corporate responses on key client issues, as requested within domain expertise.
The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects, whilst adhering to strict deadlines. Analytical skills and a desire for product / service innovation are also required.
ABS will be providing initial training. International travel onboard marine vessels or shipyards, for projects requiring analysis and correlation with measurements is expected.
Qualifications ESSENTIAL Fluency in Greek & English Naval Architect Marine Engineering Post-Graduate degree Experience in modelling and testing in Marine Main Engines Comprehensive knowledge of internal combustion engines Experience with marine decarbonization projects Experience with Dual Fuel Engines Knowledge of a computer programming language Advanced fluency with MS Office suite of programs DESIRABLE Practical experience and knowledge in classification, marine & offshore industry / technologies, and client relationships (desirable) Experience and Knowledge on CFD modelling (desirable) Experience and Knowledge on Structural FEA modelling (desirable) Knowledge on propeller performance (desirable) Seagoing experience (desirable)
