Description

As a Networks Manager you will bring domain specific knowledge, skills, and best practices to a team of talented network professionals.

You should be able to demonstrate your technical competency, perseverance, and logical systematic approach to maintaining mission critical local and wide area network infrastructures.

Apart from owning the network infrastructure services, you will oversee the management and development of the Networks team, providing career paths, learning opportunities and encourage their general progression.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Networks team
  • Plan the Networks team daily schedule and delegate tasks and projects amongst the team
  • Be responsible for the planning, administration and design of the network infrastructure and services
  • Assist the team with the installation, configuration and maintenance of network devices and tools
  • Ensure the highest level of availability of the network infrastructure by implementing best practices and proactively following field notice / critical update announcements
  • Liaise with other teams and deliver cross-department projects
  • Take ownership and leadership for technical resolutions for high severity production incidents
  • Maintain and develop company procedures
  • Produce and maintain clear and effective documentation
  • Oversee the asset management and capacity planning of the Networks department
  • Occasionally provide 3rd level support (as part of the on-call rotation)
  • Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (preferably Cisco) in LAN and WAN environments
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching and leading teams
  • Profound knowledge of Data Center technologies (e.g. Cisco Nexus)
  • Profound knowledge of L2 protocols (e.g. STP, VPC)
  • Profound knowledge of VPN technologies (e.g. LAN to LAN IPSEC VPN, SSL VPN)
  • Profound knowledge of Security technologies (e.g. Cisco ASA, IPS, FirePower)
  • Experience with F5 products (LTM, ASM)
  • Experience with dynamic routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) and PBR
  • Experience with IP address management and registration services
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. JIRA)
  • Experience with packet capture tools (e.g. Wireshark)
  • Experience with Monitoring and Alerting tools (e.g. Nagios, SolarWinds)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Desired Skills

  • Experience with Qos, VoIP and Wireless technologies
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g. Python)
  • Cisco certifications (CCNP level certification would be an asset)
