So what’s the challenge
The Applications Support Engineer acts as the technical liaison between end users, business owners and 3rd party vendors, analysing and supporting IT Applications in the OPAP Group, related to Finance, HR, Procurement or other areas.
Your day to day will include :
Providing 1st and 2nd level application operations support and follow up on incidents and problems
Participating in analysis and design of solutions to production issues
Transposing business requirements to technical functional specifications
Creating and participating in compiling and executing software testing scenarios (in close collaboration with Quality Assurance team)
Working with trainers to develop, update and review manuals and documentation, and to organize end-user training
Managing application improvements with external vendor support
Analysing, designing and implementing new reports
Performing, assisting or coordinating reconciliations
Maintaining a collaborative working relationship with project stakeholders
What you need to succeed :
BSc / MSc in Computer Science or Information Systems Management or equivalent field
2+ years of recent professional experience in operations and support either in Banking Applications (with focus on payments methods like card transactions, credit transfers, Skrill, Paysafe etc.
and reconciliation reports), or in ERP systems (with focus on Accounting and / or Treasury Management Systems)
SQL knowledge and light script programming in MS SQL Server, Oracle or other relational DBMS are required
Sound knowledge and hands-on experience on reporting tools
Customer / End User facing experience in successfully setting and managing customer expectations
Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills
Self-motivation and goal orientation
Team player attitude
Excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written, in Greek and English, both in technical and non-technical language
