Working with the Senior Livelihoods Manager, the globalcommunications team, and local external partners, develop and implement an in-countrycommunication plan, ensuring IRC policies and protocols are appropriatelyreflected;
With the Senior Livelihoods Manager and CommunicationsPartnerships Manager, work directly with IRC clients in the Resilient Futuresprogram to develop communications materials (e.
g. media stories, photographs,video footage for external news outlets and social media) to raising projectvisibility via earned media and across IRC digital channels.
Proactively identify opportunities to profile theprogram in Greek media, lead on outreach to press, and respond to journalist enquiries in a timely manner to meet externaldeadlines;
provide background information, arrange interviews and facilitatevisits as required.
Lead the creation of communicationmaterials, content, and products on behalf of the Resilient Futures projectteam in Greece (e.
g. fact sheets, case studies, powerpoints, graphics, socialmedia content, and newsletters) aimed at raising awareness about the projectwith key stakeholders.
Work alongside global communications colleagues, theIRC Hellas team and advocacy colleagues to develop appropriate messaging aroundthe Resilient Futures program.
Act as a focal point for communications with ResilientFutures local partners and ensure alignment with the implementation ofcommunications deliverables.
Support event management for the program, includingonline and offline events;
Support research and writing of briefing materials andadvocacy papers in coordination with the Advocacy Manager and Advocacy Officer;
Conduct other duties as the needs arise.

Thisposition will be based out of the IRC center in Athens, Greece, and may requireoccasional travel to other locations.
Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience as a journalist or media professional;
Experience / knowledge of developing and implementing PR / Media strategies;
Experience in external and / or internal communication in the NGO sector or any other large organization;
Good contacts with key Greek and European journalists and media outlets, and knowledge and ability to develop relationships quickly;
Good understanding of the local context;
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; adept at writing clean, engaging and jargon-free copy for a range of channels;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues;
Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multi-task in a fast paced environment;
Proficiency in Greek and English required;
Proactive approach to problem solving to meet journalist and organisational demands.
Knowledge of key debates in Greece and Europe around refugee and migrant integration issues;
Experience of dealing with media enquiries into crisis or sensitive issues;
Strong photography skills, and experience of editing audio and visual materials
