Scope of Role :

This position will play a lead finance role in delivering fiscal year targets and helping to shape the strategic direction of a cluster segment business.

The analyst will act as an effective business partner by :

  • Providing relevant and insightful analysis to business partners to improve the quality of decisions and ensure the chosen business options deliver the highest financial value at an acceptable level of risk
  • Ensuring all market related finance processes are completed accurately and in line required timelines
  • The role will have joint accountability over the delivery of the annual performance targets.

    Key aspects of the role will include :

  • Provide financial insight to influence and support the cluster lead
  • Finance partner to Sales & Marketing in developing robust go to market strategies and plans for the business
  • Partner with broader Finance team to drive finance agenda within market and broader cluster
  • Responsible for the preparation & delivery of monthly and annual market results; delivering insightful and accurate analysis
  • Prepare and deliver the proposed long-term strategy and plans for the market activation and financial glide path
  • In-depth understanding of external issues facing FMCG brands, categories, customers and markets, and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all the functional areas within GM, including factory, Region, Supply chain, Marketing and Sales.
  • Pro- active use (and development) of analytical techniques and models to influence business decision making.
  • Provide strategic decision support, input and recommendation to sales and marketing business partners to assist in driving the brand / market strategy and growth Annual Agreements, NPD, trade and marketing investment decisions, SKU and customer profitability.
  • Brand / Country / Customer special projects as required
  • This role may require some travel between key locations on a business needs basis
  • The Candidate

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / CA or equivalent) and of graduate calibre; minimum 5 yrs. + post qualified
  • Ability to credibly challenge and influence throughout a matrix environment.
  • Effective prioritization and organization skills
  • Clear, concise and influential communicator (both in writing and verbally)
  • Ability to build effective relationships remotely
  • First class analytical skills
  • Ability to engender trust throughout the organisation and GM international
  • Previous experience within the Commercial sector of a multinational company within the FMCG industry
  • Ability to critically review and improve business processes
  • Proactive and results orientated
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent PC skills; high level of competence using spreadsheet applications and a good understanding of Information Systems (SAP, Business Objects, Excel)
  • Personal fit with the Company’s culture; passionate, driven by quality and achieving results, high level of integrity, team player
  • Eagerness to learn and progress
