So what’s the challenge

The Retail Equipment Support Engineer assesses the operational efficiency and technical capacity of OPAP’s retail network IT infrastructure, proposes necessary updates needed to fit the changing business objectives (including the development of new solutions and the acquisition of new equipment) and supports effectively equipment roll-out tasks (including the required documentation and training to the roll-out personnel).

Your day to day will include

  • Monitoring the efficiency of the retail equipment and taking a key role in the execution of the root-cause analysis tasks of detected or reported failures, and in the development and implementation of possible corrective measures
  • Working towards the elimination weak points, in coordination with equipment and application vendors as well as OPAP internal teams
  • Evaluating the changes of business needs, assessing the level to which the current equipment supports business goals, proposing suitable improvements / upgrades and defining the technical specifications required
  • Enriching the knowledge base by providing documentation used either for installation and support / maintenance of equipment, or for monitoring of good operation and resolution of technical incidents
  • Being up to date with the international market for new equipment that can improve operational efficiency of OPAP’s stores’ network and enhance product gaming experience;
  • Contributing in the preparation of SoW (Statement of Work) documents that define the tasks and the methodology required in roll-out projects
  • Monitoring and following-up roll-out projects, in order to ensure that the quality of service provided meets the quantitative and qualitative requirements defined by the relevant SoW document
  • Preparing and implementing integration tests and acceptance criteria of new and / or existing equipment updates / upgrades
  • What you need to succeed :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or any other relevant field
  • 4-6 years of proven experience in supporting widely distributed retail terminals’ environments
  • Hands on experience in the management of infrastructure equipment and software deployment
  • Good knowledge of computer H / W and operating systems, networking architectures and equipment
  • Availability to work on variable shifts including evenings, weekends, public holidays and / or extended hours
  • Know-how related to Gaming / VLTs / Casino sector will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge on Technical Incident related tools and applications will be considered a plus
  • Advanced use of MS Office
  • Customer service orientation with commitment to quality and delivery under SLA
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
  • Structured and analytical thinking and decision-making ability
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work within strict timeframes and changing requirements
  • Team spirit, with high level of professionalism
  • Effective communication both in Greek and English languages (oral and written)
  • Completed military obligations (for male candidates)
