a Hotel Management Company in Greece, is currently seeking for a dynamic and experienced Front Office Manager to join company’s new, prestigious 5* hotel located in the center of Athens.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the front desk by training, supervising, evaluating and supporting the front office team, including front office agents, reservations agents and drivers.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and organize shift rotas ensuring all functions are covered as required.
  • Operate all aspects of the hotel’s PMS (Opera), including software maintenance, report generation and analysis.
  • Welcomes, meets and make guests feel important when they arrive at the hotel.
  • Handle guest queries and complaints in a polite and professional way.
  • Provide information about local features such as shopping, dining, nightlife, and recreational destinations.
  • Ensure that all functions are carried out in accordance with agreed SOP’s and protocols.
  • Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Audits and oversees cash, credit card and other financial tasks carried out in the front office department.
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily. Analyze rate variance, monitor credit report and maintain close observation of daily house count.
  • Conduct spot checking of rooms to ensure quality standards are constantly met.
  • Ensure front desk is tidy and has all necessary stationery and material; monitor stock and order office supplies.
  • Ensure logging and delivery of all messages, packages, and mail in a timely and professional manner.
  • Promote and uphold a courteous and professional environment in the daily communication with other HODs and members of their teams.
  • Monitor all V.I.P s special guests and requests.
  • Review daily front office work and activity reports generated by the Night Auditor.
  • Maintain an organized and comprehensive filing system with documentation of purchases, vouchering, schedules and forecasts, reports.
  • Assist actively in the pre-opening and closing procedures of the hotel.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Tourism studies or related
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Front Office Manager in a 5* hotel
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Hospitality PMS software Opera
  • Fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and verbal. A third language is considered a plus.
  • Strong leadership, managerial and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills; must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with hotel guest’s, supervisors and colleagues.
