SAN (master)

Responsibilities :
Research and select IT hardware for specified project needs, including servers, network equipment and appliances
Research and select hardware components including server boards, processors, and memory cards to upgrade existing equipment
Testing individual hardware components, custom build and vendor provided computer systems
Analyzing systems data in order to make changes to the hardware configuration
Completing functionality and performance tests on servers and individual components
Setting up operating systems on completed computer systems and preparing equipment for production use
Creating specifications, documents and instructions for components and completed computer systems
Collaborating with production operations team to ensure the hardware functions for its intended purpose
Overseeing system logs, monitoring alerts, statistics of hardware performance and functionality
Setting up and support monitoring tools that check hardware performance
Setting up and support backup systems
Willingness for business trips to the USA (from one to three months twice per year)
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
Minimum of 2 years of experience with computer server hardware
Familiarity with a wide range of hardware devices, including servers and server components, storages, power supply units, networking hardware, etc
Experience in solving hardware-related issues, identifying faulty components, testing and replacing system components, performing hardware upgrades
Strong understanding of system architecture of modern server hardware and server components
Understanding SAN system architecture and its components
Strong understanding of embedded software, firmware and OS functioning principles
Hands-on experience in installing and configuring OS (Linux, Windows, Solaris), firmware, and system drivers
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong analytical skills
Good communication skills
Must be a team player
Upper Intermediate level of English
At least one good language from the list : Poland, Ukrainian, Russian

19,000 - 31,000 PLN net (B2B) or 17,000 - 26,000 gross (UoP), depending on experience
