As a Product Owner in BR-AG’s Product Directorate you will be responsible for eliciting initiatives, epics, and user stories for a new B2B enterprise product that has yet to be built.
This will include writing up Stories to a level of detail and precision that will enable a smooth hand over to Product Design and ultimately Product Engineering.
Organisational skill will be critical to mission success, there will be many multi-faceted stakeholders in this new Product build and your work will be central to clear communication with them.
As such a clear and up-to-date Tactical Roadmap, tidy backlog and well-defined Sprints will expected.
You will be expected to input to the Product Strategy (including the strategic roadmap) which will be owned by the Head of Product.
As the person on the ground, your input will be critical, and this will represent an opportunity to start operating as a Product Manager.
BR-AG is a 15-year-old Bootstrapped company focussed on delivering data Products and Services to the public and private financial sector.
We have a portfolio of commercially successful Products (under our ATOME platform) and are growing this portfolio. You will have several highly experienced Product Managers as your colleagues, to help you ramp up and to bounce general ideas off.
Work with the Head of Product to understand the Product Vision as it currently exists. Provide challenge of the Vision as we progress through Design and Build.
Create a Product Roadmap based on the Vision, Resourcing, and anticipated User needs.
Create initiatives based on anticipated User needs.
Create well-formed Epics with clear success criteria that can contain User Stories and help organise the Product Backlog.
Develop detailed User Stories and hand them off to Product Design.
Manage and maintain the Product Backlog, routinely grooming as required.
Participate in Scrum meetings, as necessary to ensure the smooth running of Sprints maximising Velocity with our given resources.
Communicate and manage Up and Across to ensure blockers are removed without delay. A lean delivery mentality will be critical.
Adopting a Generalist mentality, backed by a natural curiosity. You will routinely be in rooms where you will have the least knowledge but will be expected to make decisions.
The ability to ask the right questions will be mission critical.
2+ years relevant experience (E.g., Working in a software product / project team in any capacity).
Demonstrable understanding of the software lifecycle and lean agile practices.
Strong personal organisation methods and skills.
Clear communicator (fluent / native level of English).
Nice to have
Experience managing others would be beneficial, the candidate must be prepared to mentor others.
