Provides legal services in the areas of dispute management, transaction services, compliance, advice and counsel, intellectual property or other specialized areas.
May play a role in determining strategy in dispute resolution.
Generally works independently with minimal supervision by senior attorneys. Legal services are generally provided to small and medium complex businesses, and occasionally, large complex businesses.
Member of the Regional (extended) Operating Committee in 3M South East Region (Greece, Romania, Israel, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Cyprus, Moldova, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro).
Major Duties and Responsibilities.
Actively participating in the resolution of a wide range of general management issues, including policy formulation, allocation of resources and achievement of corporate strategiesProviding counsel on a broad spectrum of corporate matters, including transactions, financing and other strategic and business development activitiesManaging litigation and disputes for all levels of significance or complexityAdvising on a wide variety of commercial matters, including marketing and advertising, contracts, licensing, competition, manufacturing related issues, employment / labor, product liability, EHS, compliance and regulatory mattersWorking closely with the Compliance and Business Conduct organization to direct and implement programs, policies and practices to ensure that 3M SEE Region operates in compliance with Company policy and the lawPreparing, justifying and managing the 3M SEE Region legal budgetLeading and facilitating clear communications and coordination between 3M SEE Region and the CEE Area, in addition to global division and staff operations in the Company’s headquartersPerforming special assignments or projects as assigned by the General Counsel CEE, the Associate General Counsel International and the General Counsel of 3M CompanyProvides leadership to Compliance Specialist according to established competency models and HR rules and requirements
Knowledge of relevant law outside of the country, as needed. Analyze and make appropriate decision to legal risks and create options or alternatives to appropriately balance risk and business objectives with the input of senior attorneys, as appropriate.
Able to begin to work at a strategic level, to understand relevant strategies, such as business or technological, of assigned organization(s) and the industry, in order to help drive the growth of the business.
Personality with independent judgment and the ability to influence others. Able to provide input on and / or supervise the work of others, or coach other lawyers.
As appropriate, able to lead a work group or project team, including having project management skills.Able to transfer experiences from one business / staff group assignment to another.
Proficient in communication in spoken and written English is required.
