The Vice President for Finance and Administration division is seeking qualified applicants for the Transit Driver-Intermittent positions within the Transportation & Parking Services department.
Established in 1804, OHIO University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio & the first in the Northwest Territory.
Located in the scenic Appalachian foothills, its classic residential campus in Athens, Ohio, is one of the most attractive in the nation.
These positions are responsible for providing transportation services for students, faculty / staff and visitors of Ohio University to include scheduled university routes, on-
demand transportation resources, accessibility transport & special event accommodations. Positions focus on providing excellent customer service and safe, efficient and reliable transport to customers with adherence to all university, state and federal laws and regulations.
Positions will consist primarily of night and weekend transit work.
Duties include the following : 1. Operates transportation services for students, faculty / staff and visitors of Ohio University to include scheduled university routes on-
demand transportation resources, accessibility transport & special event accommodations. Provides superior customer service and safe, efficient transport to customers with adherence to all university, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Assists with handling of equipment / luggage, materials & supplies. Performs routine vehicle inspection activities and maintains proper transportation documentation to ensure compliance with all position requirements.
2. Assists with transportation dispatching and ride request scheduling as needed based on transportation request demand utilizing scheduling software to meet campus transportation needs.
3. Responsible for cleaning, inspecting and general maintenance duties associated with university fleet to include washing and fueling of vehicles
Intermittent position is scheduled as needed not to exceed 1000 hours per rolling year.
EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK WILL BE REQUIRED.
Applicant must successfully complete inhouse driver and dispatcher training within first 60 days of employment.
$11.26 per hour
