The R&D Project Manager reports to Innovation Projects Lead within the R&D function.
The R&D Project Manager (PM) provides technical project management for the cross-functional project team to successfully deliver the product development of a planned launch.
Product Technical Projects are key in developing the product offer for Programs planned in the innovation pipeline. The R&D PM is accountable to lead the project team reps to create, track and complete a project plan that drives to the delivery of a PTF (Product technical Folder).
Responsibilities of the role :
Lead the excellence in planning and execution throughout the life of a project
Align schedule of project with Program goals and milestones (Charter to Contract Gates)
Fully Understand the Operating Model stages and critical periodic timings that drive programs to completions
Lead in the creation of the project charter to clearly define technical and SD benchmarks that will drive project scope.
Create and maintain a project schedule with defined critical path
Conduct appropriate risk assessments and mitigations plans
Ensure qualification & execution plans are developed, agreed, & followed by the defined team
Prepare project status reports and communicates project status (incl. scope changes & implications) within the project team, across stakeholders and with Senior Management.
Align with Program Leader and Planner to ensure global project objectives and key milestones are being achieved throughout program lifecycle (via leadership of regular Program Team Meetings and interaction with the Sponsors Team as appropriate).
Track day-to-day progress of project, addresses potential slippage, and identify opportunities for acceleration and avoiding possible bottlenecks.
Help to resolve issues by proposing and presenting alternative approaches and strategies; escalate issues as appropriate.
Capture and maintain records of project for Knowledge Management process.
Lead activities on program retrospect to capture key learning for the organization.
Educational background : Bachelor’s degree in science (e.g. engineering, IT etc.) or bachelor’s / master’s in business
Experience : Ideal candidate can demonstrate 6 years or more experience in project / program management with a strong focus on product development and driving cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams.
Are considered as a plus PMP / Prince 2 certification and work experience in several departments / functions that demonstrate a cross-disciplinary skill set / mind set (Operations, Consulting, Business Dev.)
Ability to take a Helicopter view understands where things fit into the bigger picture and has an end-to-end view on this (what’s the greater program ambition and how to rally activities to that end).
Emotional intelligence awareness build relationships within and across division / functional boundaries within the project team and with project stakeholders.
Outstanding communication skills - both individually and in a group setting
Strong project management skills ability to organize and structure work effectively and ensure other deliver on their commitments
Credibility and confidence to deliver strong guidance and messaging to both peers and leaders across the globe
Proven track record of driving action across multiple sites and time zones
Strong partnership / relationship orientation with all layers in the organization
Time Management ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize accordingly without delays in deliverables.
Languages and other skills : Fluency in English (written and spoken) required; 2nd language preferred (French or Greek)
Software and tools : MS365 proficiency with strong skill sets in Excel, Microsoft Project Management Suit
