Export - Customs Duties Manager
Location : Thessaloniki, Greece
Job Purpose :
Working as part of a global team, you will design and manage needed export processes, support and partly man the EU Export office from EU.
The purpose of the export office among other things is to support, control and implement agreed export procedures, archive / organize all export related documents, and manage all necessary export licenses including regulatory requirements.
You will manage and support all export flows out of EU from factory to destination, including preparing of accurate documentation, sharing volume requirements and present export cost control.
You will represent the Export way of working towards all exporting regions and counterparts and you will be an active communicator with all stakeholders, creating a transparent way of working.
Main Responsibilities :
Monitor Customs compliance with Customs law and origin country legislation to be Audit proof .
Design cost effective export flows per lane.
FPOC for all Customs offices and other authorities.
Ad hoc support to the logistics controller and monitor export costs.
Responsible for all Custom related licenses and respective country audits.
Set up, manage and maintain documentation regarding FTA specific rules per country.
Initiate and share input to transfer prices calculations (tariff costs).
Manage and agree work processes with custom brokerage companies (e.g. Expeditors) to maintain seamless export flows.
Ensure all documents related to preferential origin are shared with Custom offices and archived.
Manage and supporte the correct export administration relating to tariff codes, country specific export codes, FTA's origin calculations and correct calculations of products.
Determine if Long Term Vendor Declarations of all ingredients used are compliant with UCC Delegated Act.
Manage and support the rollout of CAS system to factories in DE, PL, the NL to avoid where possible broker fees for UK and Switzerland.
Support projects from EU based factories / 3PM with P&I.
About you :
5-7 years’ experience working with cross-border logistics subject to customs controls.
Excellent understanding of customs documentations across the regions where Upfield Europe BV exports to.
Understanding of required export licenses and maintaining them.
Capability to setup and manage export related archive.
Ability to understand finance implications of export flows.
Ability to engage in proactive conversations with logistics team to identify opportunities for cost efficiency / preferential duty rates.
Very strong work ethic, resilience in the face of pressure, good team player, ability to meet multiple stretching deadlines, great communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
Experience in managing, developing and implementing new processes, particularly with a systems component.
Comfortable with implementing change and working with ambiguity.
Experience with SAP Hana is beneficial.
Strong analytical bias and Microsoft Excel skills.
PowerPoint savvy with adequate presenting skills.
