Job Description
As a Network Engineer within our Service Delivery department, you will be joining the Systems Engineering team which is responsible for designing and architecting our global network infrastructure, to support business requirements for performance, functionality, capacity, costs & security.
As a Network Engineer, you are the subject matter expert in all network-related infrastructure and services.
You will join a community of Network / Systems Engineers in the Service Delivery department who collaborate and support each other in maintaining high-availability infrastructure and services.
What will you be doing?
Maintain and design the WAN and LAN networks - two on-site offices, 10+ cloud environments
Work closely with the IT Security team to enforce security standards and audit controls
Work closely with the IT Administration team to ensure office connectivity with cloud environments
Develop technology roadmaps and manage technology vendors for all network infrastructure-related technologies and systems
Develop and design network automation tools and scripts to drive cloud adoption and the development of a Software-defined network
Provides analytical input to other Service Delivery and Product teams to resolve and optimize performance
Lead and supervise network projects to assure they meet expectations in cost and timing
Translate new ideas and requirements into technical network solutions.
Create and maintain network monitoring system
Qualifications
Work experience in the specialty for at least 3 years
Strong understanding of basic protocols like TCP / IP
Knowledge of VPN protocols like OpenVPN / IPSec (mostly site-to-site)
Understanding of routing protocols e.g. BGP and how packets are processed, firewalls, network address translation (NAT)
Knowledge of upper layer protocols like HTTP
Load balancing (L4 / L7) and proxy (especially reverse proxying) knowledge
Ability to investigate and resolve network related issues e.g. asymmetrical routing, connectivity problems, incorrectly configured stateless and stateful firewalls
Knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Python, Bash)
