This engineer will join the Research and Development team of ANSYS Semiconductor Business Unit that develops state of the art software for electromagnetic crosstalk analysis and will be responsible for improving our software operations including builds, testing, release, and installation.
With increasing frequencies, tighter margins, denser integrated circuits (e.g. 3-D IC structures, stacked die architectures, etc.
and new devices and materials, the necessity of full electromagnetic (EM) interference analysis is becoming a fundamental need for the industry.
The associated physics and the sheer design size bring out new challenges related to power and reliability, affecting design closure, and at the same time make the incorporation of EM phenomena in the sign-
off process extremely challenging. ANSYS simulation and modeling tools offer the sign-off accuracy and performance needed to ensure optimal design, noise integrity and reliability of even the most complex ICs, taking into account electromagnetic crosstalk.
Create and improve automation for software builds, tests and releases.
Ensure that regular builds are running smoothly. Manage servers and storage needed for build and QA. Perform initial investigation of test failures and work with R&D to assign issues.
Investigate and implement ways to improve the configuration management processes, repository design and the CI pipeline.
Continuously improve the central builds and test runs, including turnaround time, resource usage, reliability and other metrics.
Design and implement solutions to improve product quality.
Evaluate multiple approaches to technical problems and be able to recommend one solution after considering limitations and challenges.
Help product teams migrate to common flows for builds, tests and other tasks.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, with minimum one year of experience in a DevOps environment.
Strong working knowledge of the Linux operating system.
Experience with advanced configuration management systems, preferably Git.
Experience with build automation tools, e.g. CMake.
Experience with CI tools and platforms, e.g. Jenkins, GitLab.
Knowledge of branching, merging, pull requests, and other workflows.
Extensive experience with developing scripts for automating Linux / UNIX operations.
Ability to learn quickly, understand complex systems and to work closely with others across multiple teams.
Ability to handle uncertainty, time pressure and large technical challenges.
Ability to deliver high-quality work on time.
Demonstrated skills in the following areas are a plus :
Experience in the Electronic Design Automation industry
Experience with the Python programming language and / or C++
Experience with the Azure DevOps Server infrastructure
Experience with job schedulers such as Platform LSF or Univa Grid Engine
Strong written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed organization
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
