And with them we go out of our way to create IT and Analytical Hubs which bring together best experts from the IT world to help our partners to become real data driven entities.

Currently we are looking for Senior Azure Data Engineer as we are supporting our partner in developing its Technology Competence Centre.

We need someone who will help our partner to drive towards its commercial ambitions by leveraging its unique data assets through the exploration and exploitation of its data.

The Data Engineer is an expert role and requires deep technical understanding of emerging Data & Analytics platform to ensure data is ingested, transformed and available for analytics and business teams through the development and maintenance of data pipelines, models and tools.

This role sits in the context of an evolving business landscape where the exploitation of data and the drive for insight and foresight are increasing rapidly.

Activities that require data engineering capabilities are now commonly cited across organization globally and the role will support the deployment, adoption and exploitation of the globally-implemented D&A platform.

    If you join us, your responsibilities will include :

  • developing, testing and maintaining optimal data pipelines architectures exploiting the Microsoft Azure stack and Databricks
  • helping to streamline data science workflows, adding value to product offering and regional data projects
  • preparing data for modelling, preparing raw data for manipulation by data scientists and analysts
  • building and maintaining ETL processes
  • working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams, and assisting them with data-related technical issues
  • collaborating with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization
  • assembling large and complex data sets to meet functional business requirements
  • implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it
  • identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • remaining up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs
  • working across both the advanced analytics and business warehouse / reporting technical teams
  • We expect :

  • at least Bachelor’s Degree in Data Engineering / Big Data Analytics / Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics or related quantitative field
  • computing backgrounds with at least 3 years of experience on similar position
  • expert-level knowledge of the Azure toolkit including, but not limited to, Data Factory, Data Lake and Delta Lake, Databricks, serverless Synapse, Azure ML Studio
  • experience working with broad range of stakeholders
  • technical credibility and independent judgement and decision-making capabilities
  • advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
  • writing unit and integration tests and documenting work
  • communication skills, especially being able to explain technical concepts to non-technical business leaders
  • excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • capacity to successfully manage a pipeline of duties with minimal supervision
  • readiness to make business trips to company's offices and sites in UK (no more than 5 days each month)
  • fluent English as you will communicate in English almost all the time
  • Nice to have :

  • MSc or PhD Degree in Data Engineering / Data Analytics
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate certificate
  • experience of working with SAP BW / 4HANA, SAP Data Intelligence, Power BI, Tableau
  • background or experience of requirement management, solution design, solution testing, service management
  • background or experience of Agile delivery methodology and tools
  • previous experience working both within a local and global context
