The Health & Safety Engineer guarantees the respect of the statutory regulations, the principles and the rules concerning the Health & Safety.
He endorses an operational role for promoting the Health & Safety spirit.
Main activities and responsibilities involve :
H&S tools implementation and follow up
Drafts and updates procedures and general instructions.
Follows and communicates safety indicators.
Reports to the Plant Manager, on a regular basis, the results, progresses, deteriorations
Operational implementation of the H&S policy
Analyzes performance indicators in line with his perimeter performance objectives.
Contributes to the action plan design to reach the performance objectives for his perimeter.
Motivates teams to reach performance objectives.
Application of standards
Launches, follows and leads action plans to reach the safety targeted performance.
Leads working groups and brings problem solving tools.
Leads the agenda and the discussions of the H&S committees mandatory or not.
Participates to the daily meetings for H&S fields.
Defines adapted personal protective equipment.
Participates in the projects and in the investments for new equipment.
Follows up subcontractors works (reception of equipment, plan of prevention, safety protocol for carriers, measurement equipment check ).
Realizes H&S audits.
Statutory regulations and applicable rules
Ensures the regulatory monitoring.
Follows regulatory controls on the installations (noise level measurement, air quality analysis ).
Follows the stake in conformity of equipment (fire safety equipment check ).
Manages the safety authorization (fire, first aid, forklift driving license, etc) : planning for training and
authorization follow up.
Realizes the safety trainings and welcomes the newcomers.
Makes shop floor people aware of H&S fields.
Accompanies new entrants.
Required experience and skills
General Education : 5 years at University in engineering domain (Polytechnic School, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer).
Professional license from Technical Chamber of Greece.
Experience : 5 years at least in an operational position in a plant including safety management.
Fluent (in writing and speaking) in Greek and English language.
Project management and innovation.
