Role and Responsibilities The role of a Solutions Engineer is to successfully engage, position and secure the technical selection of Oracle’s on-premise and cloud solutions. The Solutions Engineer is expected to work closely with the sales and product teams, own the solution opportunity from a technical perspective, engage continually with customers and drive the opportunity to sales closure. In doing this, the Solutions Engineer would build a trusted advisor relationship with key customer executives, evaluation team members and decision makers. The responsibilities related to this role are listed below :
  • Formulate and lead the Hybrid Cloud solution engagement with potential and existing customers
  • Deliver presales technical support activities to prospective clients and customers; Develop and deliver outstanding presentations and demonstrations.
  • Develop customer-specific value propositions highlighting benefits and differentiators of Oracle
  • Lead and respond to RFP/RFI by crafting accurate and compelling answers.
  • Be creative with strong problem solving skills and the ability to adapt and succeed in a fast paced and continuously evolving
  • Advise the sales teams on effective ways of dealing with competitive traps and objection handling
  • Build / Leverage assets that help simplify available information into key sales messages helping sales teams with value based selling, business case definition, ROI analysis, position references and analyst data.
  • Support and execute programs that result in adequate pipeline to ensure achievement of regional sales targets.
  • Continuous improvement in self-research, learning and readiness on the new public and Hybrid cloud services offerings.
  • Extend and enlarge the knowledge base of the domain of expertise by defining new approaches, by coaching others and by leadership in their professional communities internally and externally.
  • Drive activities to increase awareness, demand and adoption of Oracle Hybrid Cloud portfolio of services and products.
  • Drive architecture engagements with focus on large customers or complex sales opportunities.
  • Skillsets and Qualifications
  • Applicants who possess the following qualifications and skills would be suitable for this role
  • Mandatory Qualifications
  • Experience in architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customer environments.
  • Understanding of Cloud Technology (IaaS,PaaS) and market trends
  • Experience in customer facing activities (consulting or presales for instance) with exposure to Oracle Technology or similar.
  • Certification/knowledge and experience in Oracle Database Administration and management.
  • Certification/knowledge and experience in Operating Systems (Oracle Solaris, Linux, Windows), Hardware Servers and Storage Systems.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the IT industry. Hands-on experience in Oracle products is a must.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics or Business Studies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in Business English
  • Desired Skillsets
  • Ability to engage in discussions, whiteboarding, impactful presentations and convincing arguments
  • Application development/deployment experience, experience in deploying and maintaining enterprise database, data warehouse and experience in IT systems and infrastructure networks using both Linux/Unix and Windows with HA/DR, & storage architectures
  • Awareness and knowledge of networking and latency considerations for different workloads
  • Ability to translate workload requirements into public cloud or hybrid cloud technical architecture, incorporating Compute, Networking and Storage requirements in the architecture
  • Ability to architect for high availability, fail over & disaster recovery in public or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in working with customers in Financial and/or Public Sector

    Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

    As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

    Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
