MarineTraffic, the global ship tracking intelligence service, with 6 million unique monthly users and over 20000 new registered users per month, is looking for an experienced professional for the role of Chief Marketing Officer.

As a CMO, you'll be responsible for leading our Marketing Strategy worldwide.

The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for developing the Marketing strategy for new and existing products.

Critical thinking, agility, speed and flexibility are key and your ability to be responsive and hands on is critical. Working closely with your team, you'll regularly coach and mentor senior and junior team members to refine sales skills and create a high performance culture.

We’re looking for an energetic self-starter with managerial experience and a proven track record in Marketing who will embrace the challenge and succeed in a thriving and progressive environment where fast change and evolution is the only constant.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute Marketing strategies and tactics to deliver growth in accordance with the strategic plans and profit targets
  • Develop and monitor Marketing KPI's and other metrics
  • Oversee the activities and performance of the Marketing team
  • Provide feedback, support and coaching to the Marketing team
  • Formulate and maintain Marketing policies and procedures
  • Building brand awareness and positioning
  • Supporting sales and lead generation efforts
  • Work closely with sales department to develop customer acquisition strategies to maximise profits and market share while balancing customer satisfaction
  • Cultivate effective business relationships with executive decision makers
  • Generate and provide timely reports
  • Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessary
  • Prepare and monitor allocated budget
  • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets
  • Represent the business at conferences, trade shows and networking events
  • Identify and maximise new business development opportunities
  • Conduct market research and competitor and customer analysis
  • Liaise with all other company functions to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • Manage and refine the company’s social media presence
  • Plan and direct Marketing team training
  • Recruit for new team members
  • Requirements

  • Business degree and related strong professional qualification
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing Marketing Strategy
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage budgets
  • Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing
  • Experience in managing and directing a Marketing team
  • Experience with relevant Marketing software applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • High competence in project and stakeholder management
  • Professional and proactive work ethic
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and decision making attitude
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
