PepsiCo Food Service is looking for a results-oriented Category Analyst, who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment, to support the insights and category management agenda for the Restaurant and New Business Channel in addition to the development & execution of PepsiCo’s category management tools and capabilities.

This experience will allow you to help elevate PepsiCo consumer insights and category tools for commercial impact, work on highly strategic / visible projects, and will support the Restaurant and New Business Channel with key insights / enablers.

The Category Analyst will play a key role within PepsiCo’s Food Service. The position will report to the Sr Manager of Insights and Category Center of Excellence (COE), and will help elevate PepsiCo’s category / insights leadership in AFH by expanding PepsiCo’s full product portfolio across beverages, nutrition and snacks.

The person will play a key role in supporting the development of insights / tools that drive PepsiCo’s PSP / Strategy with the goal of delivering PepsiCo’s portfolio that meets the future needs of consumers in AFH.

By leveraging and enhancing PepsiCo’s broad range of AFH consumer insights and category leadership tools, this person will better arm the AFH organization with selling material to drive impact.

The insights and tools developed will serve as key enablers in unleashing PepsiCo’s full portfolio in priority Food Service channels and segments.

This position will support the rollout of the Beverage Assortment Optimizer Tool, a critical and highly visible growth enabler for AFH.

This will involve looking at channel & market insights to determine more tailored & optimized product assortments. They will help execute the tool by supporting the rollout and leading communication around data, training, and execution to key stakeholders / users of the tool.

They will also support the Sr Manager with the execution components of the tool by engaging key internal business partners on the sales capabilities / training team and field sales teams, communicating and executing against key milestones.

This position will also leverage category management expertise in the Restaurant Channel to drive growth across all PepsiCo products and categories.

The Analyst will leverage data to drive insights that lead to actions that address both PepsiCo and the Restaurant customer’s problems to solve.

They will also play a key insights support role in winning prospective new business customers in the Restaurant Channel.

This person will develop strong wiring with Retail and AFH Category Leadership and Insights Leadership Teams as well as Restaurant Customer and New Business Teams.

Accountabilities :

  • Support the rollout of category management tools and capabilities for the PepsiCo Foodservice Category Management Team
  • Syndicate tools / insights, national sell stories, and best practices where appropriate to create efficiencies across the AFH organization to drive for greater business impact
  • Support the development and implementation of portfolio management as it relates to key strategic initiatives like the Beverage Optimizer Tool
  • Leverage data and analytics to provide fact-based insights, assortment, and planogram recommendations
  • Support initiatives including new tool rollouts and enhancements
  • Develop strong relationships and wiring with National Sales, Field Sales, and Insights / Innovation team stakeholders
  • Maintain frequent, clear and open communication within and among functional teams regarding projects, insights and / or company objectives
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and / or equivalent work experience and minimum 2-4 years analyst and / or sales experience, preferably retail (CPG) industry and Foodservice experience
  • Solid analytical skills and project management
  • Excellent communication skills : ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
  • Strong teamwork skills : possess exceptional group facilitation skills
  • Strong planning / organizing skills : capable of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel experience working with large data sets / pivot tables
  • Experience using and analyzing syndicated data (IRI) and custom panel data
  • Experience using plan-o-gram tools (JDA, Apollo, Pro-Space, other)
  • Strong problem solving skills leveraging teamwork both internally and externally
  • Strategic thinking and planning
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
