The Demand Planner position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with stores and products & the order placement to our suppliers.

The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their stores / products, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Store Sales, Marketing, CA, Finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources (i.

e syndicated consumer data).

Responsibilities :

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with Store Sales, Purchasing, Finance & Marketing to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Store Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Turn forecasts in to supplier orders.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate store action plans with supply planning.
  • Requirements :

  • BSc degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 3+ years of Supply Chain experience in the Retail Industry
  • APICS or other forecasting certification preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PPPT)
  • Attention to detail necessary to ensure quality work as well as analytical, follow through and organizational skills.
